Computer Science & Applications

The Department of Computer Science and Applications was established in the year 2012 to offer BSc Computer Science. In the next year an additional degree course BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) was also started. Both the programs are as per the curriculum of University of Kerala.

The Department of Computer Science and Applications aims to be a to be a front runner for providing quality human resource in the Information Technology and related areas for meeting IT industry requirements.

  • Provide high quality teaching and learning environment to students so that they get expertise in modern software tools and to cater to the real time requirements of the industry.
  • To inculcate problem solving and team building skills and promote lifelong learning with a sense of societal and ethical responsibilities.
  • To equip students to get higher studies in prestigious institutions in India and abroad.
  • To offer additional courses in the emerging areas in IT for the benefit of students so that they are up to date with the current industry needs.

Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Applications!
Established in 2012, our Department is committed to academic excellence, technological innovation and professional competence through quality education in Computer Science and Applications. We strive to equip students with the knowledge, skills and values needed to excel in a rapidly evolving digital world.

Our undergraduate programmes, BCA and B.Sc. Computer Science, aligned with the University of Kerala’s Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) curriculum, provide a strong foundation in computing, programming, software development and problem-solving. The curriculum encompasses emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Web and Mobile Application Development, and Software Engineering.

Through practical training, laboratory sessions, projects, internships and collaborative learning, we encourage students to translate theoretical knowledge into innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Our experienced faculty members foster intellectual curiosity, research aptitude, creativity and continuous learning, while emphasising ethical computing, teamwork, leadership and professional integrity.
